Overview

Janpriya Sewa Sansthan, a non-governmental organisation based in Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh, was formed by a small group of professionals like advocates, doctors and social activists in 1986 to put an end to the non-development of the area.

JSS follows ideals of Mahatma Gandhi to promote integrated and self-sustaining village society by uplifting the deprived and downtrodden, vulnerable and exploited groups like children, women and aged. It seeks to end illiteracy and make the society disease free and economically enriched. It aims to change the overall disadvantaged situation to that of a healthy and vibrant society in the state.

The organisation believes that through active involvement of people at all levels and continuous effort in their capacity building it can strengthen them and in due course prepare them to take the responsibility of their development process.

Since inception JSS, with its limited resources, has focused on health and education which are the prime needs of the area. People’s support and goodwill of government organisations, donors and other development agencies are our backbone. These are pillars of our strengths, on which JSS is standing tall.
