Skill Development

Pratapgarh is among 250 most backward districts out of a total 766 districts of the country. It is primarily an agrarian district, characterised by low income level of a vast populace. Because of low income, quality of life in the district is generally poor. Non-farm sector, which is harbinger of good quality of life, is unorganised and suffers from the lack of trained skilled human resource.

In this scenario, Janpriya Sewa Sansthan builds skills of boys and girls in different trades through vocational training to enable them to take up jobs, or launch their own small ventures. Every year almost 100 boys and girls from weaker sections of the society, particularly backward classes and minorities, are imparted training in trades like beauty parlour, tailoring, two-wheeler repairing and electrical technician.

After the training many boys and girls have started their small businesses and are earning an income of ₹4,000 to ₹7,000 per month. This is gradually improving the financial condition of their families.
